This Thursday (November 29), the Access to Nutrition Foundation will host a side event at the Accelerating the End of Hunger and Malnutrition conference in Bangkok, Thailand.
The global event - organized by International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) - brings together a range of stakeholders from around the world to address the overarching question: How can we accelerate progress in transforming our agri-food systems to meet the needs of the hungry and malnourished?
Given ATNF's strong belief that food and beverage manufacturers can and should play an important role in addressing these issues, our side event is entitled ‘Monitoring the efforts made by the world’s largest food and beverage manufacturers to tackle undernutrition’.
The results of the Global Index - which features a sub-ranking focussing specifically on the undernutrition commitments and practices of the largest food and beverage manufacturers in the world - will be presented by ATNF executive director Inge Kauer. Panelists from a range of organizations (ATNF, Alive & Thrive, Food Industry Asia, GAIN, SUN Business Network, and UNICEF) will then come together to share their expertise and knowledge on the topic, and will explore how the role of the private sector can be monitored and further strengthened.
If you are attending the Accelerating the End of Hunger and Malnutrition conference, please come along to room M4 in the Centara Grand at Central World from 18:00 - 19:30 on Thursday, November 29 to be part of what promises to be a productive and lively discussion!
We will be live tweeting from our side event and sharing updates from the conference on Twitter all week. Follow us at @ATNIndex.
